First action against the injustices of the World Cup

Last January 25 was marked, in several capital cities, by the first actions against the injustices related to the Soccer World Cup, among which, São Paulo, that had more than three thousand participants, ended with police repression, hundreds of people locked up and wounded, and the attempted assassination of a demonstrator by the police.

They were more than 800 people registered and several others present at the meeting of workers, students, women, men and women of color, and fighters for sexual freedom, held on Saturday, November 2 in the Casa de Portugal in São Paulo, answering the call to a national meeting to debate the "Lessons of June for a revolutionary perspective," organized by LER-QI.

Facing the cancellation of the fare increase in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro

On June 6, several thousand people, especially young students, went out to the streets of São Paulo, the biggest city in the country, to repudiate an increase in transit fares of 0.20 reals (from R$ 3.00 to R$ 3.20), that Dilma Rousseff’s government ordered nationally.
